Helping her clients see “the art of the possible” is Mara’s number one goal. As a senior sales executive for some of the largest technology and consulting companies in the world, Mara has many years training in taking what is possible and making it a tangible reality for clients. This is the level of service and vision that Mara brings to every real estate client and transaction.
Prior to joining Busby Group, Mara was a successful sales professional at Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Intel and later Capgemini, negotiating multi-million dollar deals, and implementing transformational programs to answer her client’s most complex problems. Mara was the “quarterback” of these deals, much like she is today for all of her real estate transactions. Mara caters to and understands the lifestyle of a busy professional since she lived that life for many years. Overcoming obstacles before they arise and providing concierge-level services are business foundations for Mara and Busby Group.
Driven by a desire to combine her passion for building relationships and her love of home renovation and interior design, real estate was the natural next step for Mara. Mara takes pride in truly understanding her client’s goals, and working hard to exceed them--even if sometimes perfection might take a little extra vision and effort. As with large scale technology sales, there is no margin for error in real estate.
While not originally from Chicago, Mara has made the Windy City her home for the past 25 years, living throughout many of the city’s neighborhoods. Friends that know her well joke that Mara knows everyone in Chicago, possibly because Mara is always busy. When not working, Mara loves to be active in the community and is on the board of the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, and actively supports KPMG’s Family for Literacy (KFFL).
Mara currently lives in the Andersonville/Lincoln Square area with her husband, Liam, and son, Oliver. Blessed with boundless energy, when not working Mara teaches and practices yoga, runs half marathons and participates in long distance cycling events.
