Bordered by the cities of Lake Geneva and Burlington, the Town of Lyons was established in 1839 and has long been considered an undiscovered treasure due to its slightly inland setting a few miles northeast of Geneva Lake. That’s not to say there isn’t water adventure to pursue in Lyons. Home to White River, the town offers outdoor enthusiasts opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, in addition to a wildlife habitat. Cyclists and mountain bikers will enjoy the White River Bike Trail, which runs east and west through the center of the township. The town also boasts nearly 20 miles of state designated Rustic Roads and the Turtle Creek nature preserve for hunting, wildlife viewing or bird watching. The close-knit town of 3,700 residents offers other attractions including the Lyons House Museum and a trove of distinctive cafes and restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. From its thriving community atmosphere to its abundant untouched nature, Lyons is a place to weave enduring memories.
