4 Best Golf Courses in Naples

For golf enthusiasts who want to escape to a warm, relaxing hideaway and play a lively round of their favorite sport, there’s no better place than Naples, Florida. The area is home to many well-manicured and challenging golf courses where everyone from novices to experts can enjoy the sport.

But how do you decide which golf course is the right one for you? With such a wealth of luxurious and appealing options, it can be hard to narrow them down. Read on for an explanation of some of the best golf courses in Naples.

1. TPC Treviso Bay

This 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Arthur Hills and Hal Sutton and opened in 2008 as a private club. One year later, the course hosted the Champions Tour’s 2009 ACE Group Classic. In 2011, the club opened its doors to the public, and it’s been a golf-lover’s favorite ever since! Located next to the 110,000-acre Rookery Bay National Estuarine Reserve, the course encompasses more than 7,000 yards and is great for players of all ages and skill levels.

Today, Treviso Bay is located inside an exclusive gated community designed in the spectacular Mediterranean architectural style. The grounds are a scenic paradise landscaped with fountains and bridges, and the club itself boasts tremendous amenities, including professional tennis courts, a fitness center, and two private clubhouses, which feature fine dining restaurants, shops, and a spa. Lagoons, lap pools, a tennis center, a pro shop, and an aerobics and Pilates studio round off the incredible resort-style experience.

Treviso Bay offers a bundled equity golf membership when you purchase select homes in the community, which makes it the sole TPC bundled golf experience in Naples. You can even choose to host your next event at Treviso Bay, allowing your guests access to a PGA Tour-caliber golf course and incredible clubhouse. Memorable work events like holiday parties, board meetings, and team-building seminars can be hosted at TPC Treviso Bay, and the Club is also happy to host client golf outings. Plenty of meeting rooms are available in the Clubhouse, and there are also dining and lounge areas for relaxation and social time.
True golf lovers can even hold their wedding or social events at Treviso Bay! With a variety of available facilities, an experienced culinary staff, and stunning golf course views, this is the perfect place to hold the wedding ceremony or rehearsal dinner of your dreams.

2. Tiburon Golf Club - Black and Gold Courses

This club is home to two incredible 18-hole golf courses, the Gold (opened in 1998) and the Black (opened in 2001). Both courses were designed by the talented Greg Norman, a two-time winner of the Open who once ranked as the top golfer in the world. The course’s name was inspired by Norman’s PGA tour nickname, “the Great White Shark” — tiburon is “shark” in Spanish.

Both courses were ranked among the Top 20 Golf Courses in Florida by Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine. They play to a par of 72 and feature five sets of tees. Courses are designed with stacked sod wall bunkers and coquina shell waste bunkers, and nature is integrated into the course designs to create a healthy and aesthetically pleasing environment for golfing.

The Black and Gold courses are both stunning but have different feels; the Black Course is considered to be tougher and more strategic, with tee shots that must pass narrowly through gaps in trees or reach over water. It features pine straw-lined fairways, crushed coquina waste areas, acres of pine trees, native Floridian foliage, and plentiful greenery. Meanwhile, the Gold Course is known for hosting the Franklin Templeton Shark Shootout every December. It features wall-to-wall short grass with no rough and comprises 7,271 yards.

Nearby, guests can stay at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort Naples, which offers 295 luxurious rooms and is located adjacent to the two golf courses, or the smaller Ritz-Carlton beach hotel a few miles away. Tiburon Golf Club itself features a 27,000 square foot Clubhouse with three dining rooms, locker rooms and lounge areas for members, and a golf pro shop. Relax at the Club with a massage at the Spa after a long day of golf, or enjoy a fantastic meal at Sydney’s Pub, a contemporary American eatery serving up incredibly crafted dishes in a casual setting. Meet friends at the bar inside Sydney’s Pub for happy hour, where you can sample beers from local Naples breweries!

For younger visitors, Tiburon is also home to Bobby Clampett’s Impact Zone Golf, where you can take lessons to improve your golfing game and learn some new techniques. Kids and teens who are looking to take up the sport can participate in the Junior Academy, which offers private lessons, after school programs, specialty training, and even summer camps.

3. Naples Grande Golf Club

One of Naples’ more prestigious golf clubs, this course was ranked as one of North America’s Top 100 Resort Courses by Golfweek Magazine and named one of the Top 50 Courses in Florida by Golf Magazine, which also gave the course 4.5 out of 5 stars. It was built in 2000 and is managed today by Arnold Palmer Golf Management. A par 72 championship course designed by acclaimed golf architect Rees Jones, it’s located just a short drive from downtown Naples.

Natural beauty is abundant at Naples Grand Golf Club. With unique water features and indigenous Florida foliage, this is a stunning area to relax and enjoy a game of golf. You can also admire native Florida pine hammocks and live oak and grand cypress trees.

The course itself is known for its risk/reward experience, challenging even for seasoned golfers. Need to brush up on your skills? Not to worry — the Naples Grande Professional Staff is on hand to provide lessons that can last up to an hour. Lessons through the Durland Golf School can be arranged ahead of time and can be tailored to fit specific needs. If you need to stock up on supplies, the golf pro shop sells athletic wear, logo merchandise from the best golfing brands, premium golf club rentals, shoes, accessories, and much more.

Host a business meeting at Naples Grande Beach Resort and allow the experienced staff to set up a golf experience for you! The experience includes a tournament outing on the resort’s 18-hole golf course and access to Club amenities including the locker rooms, practice facility, pro shop, and luxurious dining room. A catered menu can be served to complement the event, and guests can rent clubs and shoes as necessary. Participants will receive their choice of game types and starting formats, and prizes will be presented at the end of the tournament.

After a long day on the course, enjoy a delicious meal at one of Naples Grande Beach Resort’s six incredible restaurants and bars! Whether you’re looking for a quick cup of coffee, a tasty and casual lunch, or an incredible seafood dinner, the resort has something to fit your needs. Premier Club members also enjoy beach benefits at the secluded Clam Pass Beach. Consisting of three sprawling miles of sugar-sand and dotted with comfortable chaise lounges and cabanas, this is the perfect place to take in some sun — plus, you can also take a kayak or paddleboard out on the water! Of course, three stunning pools are available for any members who would rather kick back away from the sandy shores.

4. Valencia Golf & Country Club

The course at Valencia Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par 72 public golf course designed by Gordon Lewis in 1997 and newly renovated in 2018. It features a variety of tee boxes to challenge players of all skill levels and ages, and there’s even a practice facility with chipping and putting greens. Golfers can enjoy a 30-station, all-grass driving range with target pins set at 100-270 yards.

This beautiful course is a relaxing place to spend time, with contoured greens, glistening lakes, plentiful palm, pine, and cypress trees. Fairways feature Celebration Bermuda grass, which is highly rated for drought tolerance and offers an aesthetically pleasing look. Relax at the Patio Bar and enjoy drinks with friends surrounded by beautiful Florida pine, cypress, and palmetto trees. You can also stop by the Pro Shop to pick out everything you might need for a day on the golf course, including golf balls, shoes, apparel, and a brand new set of clubs!
